Germain Racing is a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series team. It is owned by the Germain Racing and fields Toyota Tundras for Ted Musgrave and Todd Bodine. Previously, the team had been affiliated with Arnold Motorsports, a now-defunct NEXTEL Cup team.
Germain debuted in 2004 at the Kroger 200, where Bodine finished fourth after starting third in the 30 truck. Bodine won two races that year, before missing the field at the Ford 200.
Bodine left for Fiddleback Racing in 2005, and was replaced by Chad Chaffin. The team also added a second truck to its stable, the #9 AISIN Toyota driven by rookie Shigeaki Hattori. Chaffin had three top-tens and was sixteenth in the points, when he was replaced by Bodine after Fiddleback closed its doors. Bodine won in just his second race back at Kansas Speedway. After picking up another win later in the year at the Las Vegas 350, Bodine won the last three races of the season, giving the #30 a third-place points finish. Hattori, however, struggled in his transition to stock cars, and was released towards the end of the season, and replaced by Justin Hobgood, whose best finish was a 20th at Phoenix International Raceway.
Musgrave joined the #9 in 2006, and is second in points behind Bodine, who has three wins this year. The team plans to enter Bodine in five or six NEXTEL Cup races this season.
The team has recently announced plans to compete in the Car of Tomorrow events in the Nextel Cup Series in 2007. The team hopes to move up full-time by 2008, and its plans in that direction will be announced shortly.
