Gerda Lerner

Historian, author and teacher born in Vienna, Austria in 1920. She immigrated to the United States in 1939. Lerner was and is incredibly influential in the field of Women's History as well as women's rights. She was a pioneering member of the National Organization for Women (NOW) and was also a president of the highly esteemed Organization of American Historians (OAH).
