Gerbo (woreda)

Gerbo is one of the 47 woredas in the Somali Region of Ethiopia, named after its major town, Gerbo. Part of the Fiq Zone, Gerbo is bounded on the southwest by Segeg, and on the north and east by the Degehabur Zone.
Based on figures published by the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, this woreda has an estimated total population of 36,073, of whom 16,195 were males and 19,878 were females; 11,826 or 32.78% of its population are urban dwellers, which is greater than the Zone average of 11.6%. Information is not available on the area of Gerbo, so its density cannot be calculated.[1]
