Gerard Hemsworth

Gerard Hemsworth (b. 1945, London) is a contemporary artist. He studied at St. Martin's College from 1963-1967 and has exhibited his work internationally since the 1970's. Initially his work was associated with the conceptual art practices of the late 1960's/1970's, however since the early 1980's it has expanded to include painting and print-making. In 2000 he was the winner of the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition Charles Wollaston Prize.
He is currently Professor of Fine Art at Goldsmiths College, University of London where he is Director of Postgraduate Studies in Fine Art.
