Gerónimo Barbadillo

Gerónimo Barbadillo (born September 29, 1954 in Lima, Peru) was a Peruvian football player who played for UANL Tigres in Mexico, and for Avellino and Udinese in Italian Serie A. He also played with the Peruvian Team in the 1982 FIFA World Cup. He is nicknamed "Il Patrulla".

He started playing in 1972 with Sport Boys Callao. In 1974 he moved to play with Defensor Lima.

In 1977 he arrived to Monterrey, Mexico to play with UANL Tigres, a team in which he scored over 60 goals in the 5 years he played there. He became team hero and is remembered as a legend. Because he is considered the best player the team has ever had, his number, #7, has been retired and immortalized.

He then moved in 1982 to Italy to play for Avellino, after his magnificent performance in the World Cup. He played later for Udinese in 1985-86.

He is currently retired and lives in Italy. He's come back to Udine and since 2005 is the person in charge of the youth team of Udinese.
