[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Johnson-large.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Johnson-large.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Blocked
You have been blocked for 36 hours (a day and a half) for uploading copyrighted photos and blanking talk page warnings. Continuing to do so after your block has ended may lead to a longer block, or an indefinite block. SushiGeek 03:32, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
- I tried to do it right and it didn't seem to be good enough for you. What is with the fascist attitude here — particularly with images? I thought I blanked out a page directed to me and removed the cleanup tag in the Chad Johnson article after I cleaned up the article. You could have contacted me and simply asked why I did it. I'm reasonable. Unlike yours, my email is public; I don't hide. The block was damn sure not necessary and I was actually very, very angry at you. So, if you would show me how to properly upload and tag images I would appreciate it. GeorgeC 06:51, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
-
- By the way, my IP is autoblocked. I logged in under an old username in another browser to try to contact you. So, would you please remove the autoblock? It was honestly not my intent to break the rules and I did not know I had to get permission to remove the cleanup tag. Thank you. GeorgeC 07:15, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

- I would recommend putting the {{unblock}} tag on your page in order to attract an admins attention. Megapixie 07:42, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Unblocked
Your apology seemed sincere and so I have unblocked you. Please don't let it happen again, or this account will face much longer blocks, and others may not be so sympatetic. AmiDaniel (talk) 08:27, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks. Now can I remove the unblock request which contains my IP address? GeorgeC 08:33, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

- Thanks. So, explain this to me: can I remove the cleanup tag on the Chad Johnson page since I cleaned up the article or do I have to get permission from someone?GeorgeC 08:36, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Licensing for Image:Filming.jpg
That images has two licenses, which contradict each other: CC-BY allows non-commercial usage, while NonCommercial does not. Please fix that, or the image will be deleted in seven days. bogdan 13:49, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Tired of getting messages
"Bot"? Sounds like a truncated term for fascism. And I see Carnildo even got a treat from his master. It's stuff like this that's ruining Wikipedia. Stop! GeorgeC 15:41, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
- Are you requesting that I add you to the bot's "do not notify" list? --Carnildo 17:37, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
-
- It would help. Sorry if I came on so harsh, but I'm tired of getting the messages and no help when I ask for it about images. GeorgeC 18:31, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Deuce
You are allowed to remove the Mustard template. However, please see WP:MUSTARD - the lyrics are a copyright violation, and that external link needs to be in a References section, if that's what it is. Preferably use Template:Cite web. See also the guidelines at WP:MUSTARD under Format - song titles should be in quotes and not italics, and albums vice versa. Also, though it's not marked that way, Deuce (song) also needs Categories. Tuf-Kat 18:16, 9 July 2006 (UTC)
- I don't know what they're wanting exactly, so I removed the lyrics entirely. GeorgeC 19:35, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Edit summary is your friend
When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:
The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.
Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. ←Humus sapiens ну? 06:57, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Alive!
Hello, I noticed your updates to the Alive! article, and wanted to point out one minor detail - song titles are quoted, but not italicized. WP:ALBUM has more info on this if you care to take a look. If you have any questions please let me know. --cholmes75 (chit chat) 18:06, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Upcomingdvd.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Upcomingdvd.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

[edit] Image:Steinbrenner George.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Steinbrenner George.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Oden 07:32, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Federal Reserve System
Dear fellow editor: Regarding the following language:
-
- Masters of the Universe: The Secret Birth of the Federal Reserve is a 1999 documentary about the creation of "The Fed", and it contends that, in order for the Federal Reserve Act to be signed into law, it stole the 1912 presidential elections by splitting the Republican Party vote by convincing Theodore Roosevelt out of retirement to form the Bull Moose Party, thereby stealing votes away from William Howard Taft. Masters of the Universe: The Secret Birth of the Federal Reserve contends that Woodrow Wilson, a formerly obscure dean of the State College of New Jersey, was their chosen candidate and he was persuaded to sign the Federal Reserve Act into law. However, near the end of his life, Wilson admitted he'd been deceived and lamented that he'd betrayed his country.
What this is literally saying is that the "Federal Reserve Act" stole the presidential election. The word "it" needs an antecedent, and I don't think you intended the antecedent to be the "Federal Reserve Act." To whom is the word "it" supposed to be referring? Can you take a look at the article?
In the second sentence, regarding the phrase "was their chosen candidate [ . . . ]" -- who is "their" (i.e., what is the antecedent for "their")? Who did the choosing? Can you provide a clarification in the article? Thanks, Famspear 04:41, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
-
- OK, I see that another editor has made some changes to the verbiage. You may want to look at it and see if that meaning is what you intended. Yours, Famspear 15:33, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
