I'm Richard Gibson, a geologist living in Butte, Montana. I've worked in the oil and gas exploration business, on environmental geology problems, and even as a mineralogist analyzing kidney stones. I've taught college field geology and other courses. Most recently I focus on geoscience education for the public, including being the former Education Director of the World Museum of Mining, and I also serve as a Study Leader for Smithsonian Journeys around the world.

So far, my Wiki-work focuses on expanding geology stubs; I also started Misty Fjords National Monument and did major expansions of Mount Jefferson (Montana) and List of oil-producing states .

More information than you could imagine wanting can be found on my web site, gravmag.com.
