[edit] Useful

Now that I have been on the wikipedia for a while I think I ought to make greater use of my user pages to keep track of what I am working on, and the issues raised around the articles I am interested in.

[edit] maps

I have created some maps for the wikipedia. And I am interested in learning how to create better ones.

Right now I am using this online map creation tool.

[edit] Double redirects

Hi Geo Swan. I have seen your discussion with Nuggetboy about the double redirects you have created. I understand that you are creating them in order to organise your own effort to create individual articles under the relevant titles. Without prejudice to the value of your contributions, please may I suggest to you that another way of organising your effort may be both preferable and more efficient? Most editors use their own User page, or sub-pages thereof, to keep track of things to do and the like. I would think that the same method would enable you to keep track of the article titles most efficiently, without ending up in conflicts with other Wikipedians about double-redirects. Please understand that double-redirects are frowned upon because the software does not directly redirect the user to the target page, and a page with only one link is a bit confusing. This is why we have several bots running that "fix" (i.e. eliminate) double-redirects, and yours will likely be eliminated by the same bots without discrimination. Would you consider changing your methods in such a way that you do not need to rely on the existence of double-redirects? — Timwi 13:55, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
