What's this all about? Tringov doesn't qualify as a "living" person any more; see below. -- Bill-on-the-Hill 21:44, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Confirmation of the date of death?

Can anyone confirm 2000 as the correct date of death for Tringov? The 2004 Bulgarian Open was called the Tringov Memorial, but I don't know if that was the first year that it was a memorial. Quale 06:00, 14 September 2005 (UTC)

Well, there is this from a Yugoslav chess site: "Visestruki sampion Bugarske GM Georgi Tringov umro je u Plovdivu 2.07.2000 godine." This isn't a language I speak, but I surmise that it means he died on July 2, 2000. Anyone with the appropriate language skills want to confirm this? I have nothing (yet) on the comparable date-of-death issue for Milko Bobotsov. -- Bill-on-the-Hill 17:30, 15 September 2005 (UTC)
