The "reference" was removed? No, an assertion, without any cited source, was removed. I put a ^{[citation needed]} mark on the assertion, where it remained for perhaps a week or two. Nobody stepped forward with a cite. In the process of rewriting the article, I removed the unsupported assertion--it was not related to his important contributions, and without a cite, it was simply a slander. --Anthon.Eff 14:49, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
