[edit] Possible run in Yale riding

I was looking up the '52 election to find out where Ma had run and came across a George Murray candidate in the Yale riding; I'm not sure if this is "our George" and will have to check the bio. In the meantime here are the results of that race, if they need to be added to this one.

(preferential ballot; first column is first count, last column is 4th count of 4)

  • Cherry, Bernard (Ben) PC 338 10.74 - -
  • CORBETT, Irvine Finlay BCSCL 1,024 32.53 1,390 51.46
  • Gillis, John Joseph Alban LIB. 1,067 33.89 1,311 48.54
  • MacIsaac, Angus Hugh CCF 659 20.93 - -
  • Murray, George IND. 60 1.91 - -
  • Counts 4
  • Rejected ballots 98
  • TOTAL 3,148 2,701

NB if that is George Matheson Murray it's an abysmal turnout; and may reflect the result/impact of Margaret's candidacy elsewhere.Skookum1; but similar to his less-than-100 votes in 1941, which was during the mine strike 05:06, 24 November 2005 (UTC)
