Georgy Mikhailovich Beriev (Russian: Георгий Михайлович Бериев; February 13, 1903July 12, 1979), founded the Soviet Union's Beriev Design Bureau in Taganrog, which concentrated on amphibious aircraft. Beriev was born in Tbilisi (then Tiflis), Georgia and graduated from the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute (now St. Petersburg State Polytechnic University) in 1930.
