The Georgia national football team is the national football team of Georgia and is controlled by the Georgian Football Federation. After the split of Soviet Union, they played their first match against Lithuania on May 27, 1990. Before that, Georgian players played for the USSR national football team.
By beating the then title holders, Uruguay, in a friendly on 15 November 2006, Georgia became the Unofficial Football World Champions.
