Georgia is one of the few European countries that have yet to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest, even though they have been eligible to do so for some time.

On 27 October 2006 this country on the other side of Europe confirmed that they wanted to enter the Eurovision Songcontest. There was still a problem: they were already the 43rd country that wanted to enter. Later, it appeared that wouldn't be a problem, because all the countries are allowed to compete.

The Eurovision Song Contest broadcaster for Georgïa is GTVR.
