Georgia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007

Georgia is set to make it's Eurovision debut at Eurovision Song Contest 2007. The Georgian broadcaster announced that there debut entry will be performed by the internally selected singer, Sopho Khalvashi. This decision was made based on a poll in which Sopho Khalvashi was in the lead with over 60% of the votes. Sopho Khalvashi will sing 5 songs during a national final in February 2007, where televoting and SMS voting on the part of the Georgian audience will select the winner [1].
Sopho Khalvashi was born on 31 May 1986 in Batumi, Georgia. She is the winner of the musical contest of young singers "School of Nutsa - 2004" and recently she won the third prize in "New Wave 2006" in Jurmala, Latvia.
