State Route 388 is a short highway that runs north-to-south from S.R. 232 in the community of Lewiston in the north to S.R. 223 in Grovetown in the south, along Lewistown Road, Horizon South Parkway, and Wrightsboro Road. The route has an interchange with Interstate 20 near its midpoint, and the route serves to connect S.R. 232 and S.R. 223, which run parallel to each other on opposite sides of Interstate 20 in southern Columbia County.
