Georgia State Route 246 is one of the most unusual highways in Georgia because a portion of the highway is actually located in North Carolina. Even the North Carolina portion of the road is maintained by the Georgia Department of Transportation. The highway starts north of Dillard, Georgia at an intersection with US 441 and climbs through the mountains to Sky Valley, Georgia. This mountainous route has some beautiful scenery, and including overlooks and waterfalls such as Estatoah Falls.

The portion of Route 246 starting as US 441 and ending at the entrance to Sky Valley became known as the Larry McClure Highway in 1999.
