Georgia Byng

Georgia Byng is a British author of children's books. Her first writing was for a comic strip, and her first published book was The Sock Monsters. Byng's best known work is Molly Moon's Incredible Book of Hypnotism and its sequels, about a girl who finds a book about hypnotism and learns how to hypnotize people.
Byng has been compared to J. K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter books. She lives with her partner, artist Marc Quinn, and her two children, daughter Tiger and son Lucas.

In March 2006, copies of author Meg Cabot's book Party Princess in New Zealand and Australia were published with Byng's picture on the back cover rather than Cabot's. The books were immediately pulled from the shelf, and the picture was corrected.
