Georgi Lazov

Georgi Lazov was a Bulgarian citizen who took a job as a truck driver in Iraq. He was kidnapped by Islamic extremists affiliated with Jordanian militant Abu Musab al-Zarqawi on July 8, 2004 near Mosul. His beheaded body was found July 15 on the banks of the Tigris River.
Lazov, 30, and a second Bulgarian hostage, Ivaylo Kepov, 32, were kidnapped June 29 as they were driving trucks loaded with used cars to Mosul.
