George Valavanis

George Valavanis (George Vala) is a producer, composer, sound designer, musician, and audio engineer. Having established himself as a composer through the years with ATI, Valavanis is now the Audio Director and Senior Sound Designer for Blue Fang Games in Waltham, MA, maker of Microsoft's popular Zoo Tycoon franchise. As Audio Director at Blue Fang, George is responsible for developing several new production techniques that utilize complex A.I. behaviors to process and manage life-like animal sounds. He also composes all of Blue Fang's music.

In addition to game audio, Valavanis produces electro-progressive house under the alias George Vala . Gone Close, Hiding Islands, and Ok To Go have all received national club play.

As a solo artist, his talents range from new wave rock to electronica. "If The End Will Bring Us Something", released in 2001, was Valavanis' first indie release under the guise of Astrophel. ITEWBUS is glittered with a variety of genres that Valavanis would soon become know for in dance and game audio.

In 2002 he was approached by singer/songwriter Byron Zanos to produce the artist's first solo album "Better Safe Than Sorry". The album included such songs as "Sweet Melancholy" and "Pieces Missing", which immediately received praise amongst Zanos' fans. One year later Zanos and Valavanis collaborated for a second time on 2003's "Down For You".

George recently produced 3 tracks alongside producer Jaw Maran and executive producer Kentaro Yoshi for EMI Records International in Boston. This untitled Miles Davis remix project is expected for release in early 2007. Tracks written by George Vala: "Run The Voodoo Down (featuring Krysta Youngs)", "In A Sentmental Mood", and "Four".
