George Gray (game show host)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
George Gray was born in St. Louis, Missouri but was raised in Tucson, Arizona. A popular comedian and game show host, he got his start in TV game shows by hosting Extreme Gong, an updated version of The Gong Show, on Game Show Network in the mid '90s. He also hosted the American version of Junkyard Wars.
However, it was his stint a few years later as the host of the U.S. syndicated version of the TV show Weakest Link when he could be seen on televisions nationwide. He was known for his sarcasm, and for being less harsh and more silly than his British counterpart, Anne Robinson.
After hosting the FX reality flop Todd TV and the GSN special National Lampoon's Greek Games, Gray would re-emerge in late 2004 as co-host of NBC's $25 Million Dollar Hoax and as host of ESPN's I'd Do Anything. His next stint as host will be on the upcoming reality show The Ultimate, Ultimate Challenge.
He is often compared and sometimes criticized for being similar to Jim Carrey.
