George Colligan

George Colligan is a jazz pianist born in New Jersey on December 29, 1969, but raised in a suburb of Baltimore, Maryland. He attended the Peabody and began by playing trumpet. In High School he learned drums and later switched to piano.
He has worked as a sideman for Phil Woods, Gary Bartz, Robin Eubanks,Billy Higgins, Lee Konitz, Nicholas Payton, Steve Wilson, and others. He was also in Vanessa Rubin's trio for a time. He counts Chick Corea, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Thelonious Monk, Wayne Shorter, and McCoy Tyner as influences.
