George Bridgman

George Brandt Bridgman (born in Canada in 1865 - died 1943) was a well known teacher of figure drawing. While also a painter, Bridgman is most noteably remembered for his writings and teachings in the field of anatomy and figure drawing.

Though born in Canada in 1865, Bridgman lived in New York where he taught anatomy and figure drawing at New York City's Art Students League. In his youth Bridgman studied the arts under painter and sculptor Jean Leon Gerome at the Ecole des Beaux Arts Paris, and later with Gustave Boulanger. [1]
