George Bennard

George Bennard (b. Youngstown, Ohio, February 4, 1873, d. Michigan, October 10, 1958) was an American hymn composer and preacher. He spent much of his life in Michigan and Wisconsin. His most famous work is the Christian hymn/song "The Old Rugged Cross".
He retired in Reed City, Michigan, where a museum dedicated to his life and music is maintained.
