Dr. Geoffrey Vaughan was born in Canada and studied at both Boston College and St. Michael's Institute before attaining his D.Phil at Keble College at Oxford. After completing his post-graduate studies he returned the United States where he taught at Harvard for one year. He is currently an associate professor at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. He is married to Jennifer Vaughan, has three children, and lives outside Baltimore, Maryland.

He is known for his expertise in political theory. Dr. Vaughan's work includes extensive studies on Hobbes[1], liberal education and, its subsequent effect on the general public. Vaughan has gained respect from all corridors of the UMBC campus. Finally, Dr. Vaughan is the academic advisor for the UMBC College Libertarians.
