Geoff Metcalf

Geoff Metcalf was a nationally syndicated radio talk show host based in Washington, D.C. He is Editor of CalNews.com.
Geoff Metcalf is a ninth generation commissioned officer in the U.S Armed Services and a former Green Beret. He is a retired USAR LTC and has commanded a Special Forces Operational Detachment, and a Military Police Company in addition to various staff positions.
He was a columnist for the Sacramento Union and an editorial writer for the Evening Times in Rhode Island.
During Operation Iraqi Freedom Geoff was a military pundit and appeared on numerous radio and television programs (Fox & Friends, Bob Grant on WOR, Lionel, G. Gordon Liddy, Al Rantel on KABC, Mancow, Al Malmberg, and several Canadian and European stations.
Prior to nationa syndication, Metcalf was a radio talk show host for KSFO (ABC owned and operated radio station in San Francisco).
He writes a weekly column for a number of online News sites such as including Newsmax.

He is a recipient of the NRA Defender of Freedom Award, and Eagle Forum's 'Media Person of the Year 2000.
[edit] Dispute with Muslim group
He is involved in a freedom of speech dispute with CAIR in August 2005 for a comment he made to his listeners on air:[1]:
- And by the way, let me just add a sidebar here that's significant, and everybody forgets this, but according to the Quran, believers in Islam are not required to tell infidels, and that's us, the truth. So they apparently have permission to lie when it is appropriate"
In its press release, CAIR did not refute the substance of Metcalf's comments, instead it called on area Muslims to put pressure on WMAL's advertisers regarding "the incitement of anti-Muslim hatred caused by its talk show hosts."[2]
