I Can Hear the Heart Beating as One (1997) |
Genius + Love = Yo La Tengo is a 2-discs compilation album by Yo La Tengo. It spans rarities and out-takes from 1988 to 1995, making this a collection of songs which weren't available before. The album was released on Matador in 1996 and an extended Japanese version with two extra tracks appeared on 1998. The first disc contains vocal material including several cover songs including John Cale's "Hanky Panky Nohow," The Velvet Underground's "I'm Set Free," and Beat Happening's "Cast a Shadow". The seconds one consists of instrumental versions of songs previously recorded by the group and covers, being the highlight a wedding-like rendition of the Ramones' "Blitzkrieg Bop".
