Genevieve Cano (b ??/??/1958 in Toulouse, France) is a high school teacher, former beauty pagent competitor and International Baccalaureate coordinator.

[edit] Early Life

Though born in France, Genevieve grew up in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, attending F.J. Brennan Catholic High School for her formal secondary school education. She was titled Miss Spain and was runner-up in the Miss Latin America contest in the 1980's. After retiring from the spotlight, she chose to pursue a career in teaching; currently she is the department head of Languages at Assumption College School in Windsor.

[edit] International Baccalaureate Programme

Because of Assumptions declining numbers in recent years, something needed to be done in order to prevent the historic school from closing for good. Genevieve persevered at making Assumption an official International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme granting high school as early as 2002. Since its inception in 2004, it has brought over 120 new students from outside the normal district boundaries, revitalizing the landmark school. She personally teaches IB French now with a strong emphasis on grammar.
