Gene library or Gene Bank
Definition
A population of organism ,each of which carries a DNA molecule that was inserted into cloning vector.Ideally, all of the cloned DNA molecule represent the entire genome of another organism. Also called gene bank. This term also represent all the vector molecule ,each carrying piece of the chromosomal DNA of the organism ,prior to the insertion of these molecule into the population of the host cell.
The process of subdividing genomic DNA into clonable element and inserting them into host is called creating a library, a clone bank, or a gene bank,A complete library of host cell, contain all of the genomic DNA of the source organism
