Gene Pelowski

Eugene (Gene) Pelowski (born 1952) is a Representative in the Minnesota State Legislature for District 31A and a teacher at Winona Senior High School in Winona, Minnesota. He is a Polish-American and a Democrat.

Pelowski was first elected to represent the Winona area in 1986 and has continuously served since then, most recently winning re-election in 2006. As of the end of the 2005-2006 Legislative Session, he currently serves on a number of House committees, including Capital Investment, Education Policy and Reform, and is the lead DFL for Higher Education Finance. As is custom, he will most likely become chair of Higher Education Finance due to the DFL takeover of the House, though until the session begins this will remain unsure.
