Gender discrimination
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Gender discrimination is discrimination based on gender. This is considered a form of prejudice and is illegal in most countries. As a notable exception, it is often institutionalized in non-secular Islamic countries. The Equal Pay Act (part of the Fair Labor Standards Act) prohibits wage discrimination by employers and labor organizations based solely on sex.
