Geike Arnaert

Geike Arnaert (born September 13, 1979) is the lead singer from the Belgian ambient-pop group Hooverphonic. She was raised in a small village, Westouter, in West Vlaanderen, North Belgium. She has two sisters Kaat (band Sutrastore) and Anne. Her current hometown is Brussels, in Belgium, where she likes hanging out with her friends and doing yoga, swimming and meditating. Her musical influences go from the Rolling Stones, the Doors, David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Led Zeppelin, Lou Reed, Nirvana, Joni Mitchell, Portishead, Massive Attack, Cocteau Twins, and Blondie. She has a low-key personality, and likes cooking and reading a good book. She has been separated from her husband Brazillian dancer Gustavo Miranda for two years, after he fathered a child with another woman. Geike is often described as a polite and likable person, despite her detachment and awkwardness on stage. Geike has song as a guest vocalist for Ozark Henry and various other artists. Her plans to go solo are in the works.
