GE C30-7A

The GE C30-7A is 6 axle DC locomotive with a C-C AAR wheel arrangement. Conrail was the only railroad to possess this locomotives, ordering 50 units, numbering them 6550-6599. They are externally identical to the C30-7 model, but with a 12-cylinder prime mover, instead of a 16-cylinder engine, both which produced 3,000 HP. Conrail liked these units for their improved fuel economy.They were built between May and June 1984.
