Ok, so as one might expect, this article is pretty sketchy. Not too surpising considering we're essentially dealing with a bunch of internet lore. I reworded the "cult status" section with proper grammar and a less informal tone. I also intially added a bunch of ^{[citation needed]} requests. This, however was before I found a link to at least one forum discussing the film at the bottom of the page. More would be nice, but this may be all we can ask for. Perhaps we should even consider removing some of the more questionable claims in the article. Specifically I've left the citation reqest for this initial IMDB reivew. Though it has now been removed, perhaps we could find it somewhere. Maybe it doesn't even bear mentioning. Who is this guy with the defunct anime site anyway? They guy who originally wrote the blurb? I think I've spent as much time as I care to on this semi-rediculous article. Please manually add more citation requests rather than reverting if you see them as necessary, there are other subtle rewordings that I think should be kept. Kevmitch 06:05, 20 April 2006 (UTC)

Great. So I know I said I was done with this page, but lo-and-behold an anonymous user has dug up the legendary review! Now we're still at the point of whether its wiki worthy enough to mention. If it is decided to leave it in, is it adequate to link to a google cache? What happened to the original post on this forum? How long will a google cache last after a page has dissapeared?

To what degree is the account of the rise of the film to cult status generally accepted among the internet community? I might suspect that an alternative telling would have the film rise to noteriety through GNAA. Or perhaps this IMDB legend (if it can be called that) did in fact preceed. Do we really need the torrent links? Could this get the wiki in legal troubles? I'm guessing no since it's really got no organizations behind it and therefore no big sticks, but still... I suppose a link to BitTorrent wouldn't hurt. --~~--TIB (talk) 05:10, Sep 19, 2004 (UTC)

I wondered the same thing. One assumes this short film is copyrighted, and all, and we really shouldn't be violating it. We don't link to ROMs of video games which have articles. - Vague | Rant 06:51, Dec 28, 2004 (UTC)

It's obvious (to me anyway). Gayniggers From Outer Space sounds a lot like Gravediggers From Outer Space which was the original title of Edward D. Wood Jr.'s Plan 9 From Outer Space before his investors (a church group) vocally frowned upon "gravedigging". Spelling "Gayniggers" as one compound word instead of two words makes the title unmistakeable in its homage and its intent to portray an even more offensively-named group of aliens than the original.— FREAK OF NUR_xTURE (TALK) 11:06, Mar 2, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Waste of Time

I, like probably many other naive wikipedians, read the wikipedia humor page ("BJAODonica"), which lead me to GNAA, and was tempted to downloaded the torrented movie.

This movie is a waste of time and bandwidth. I get the jokes, but they are not funny enough to waste 25 minutes of precious time which could be used for link disambiguation, homework, cooking, or other productive activities. P.S. Plus i wasted a few more minutes trying to decypher what the Chinese man says. It sounds like reverse audio, which it probably is, but when i reversed it, it wasn't English. I don't think it was Chinese either. Maybe it was Korean. Anyway, don't waste your time on this.--Amir E. Aharoni 07:28, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
