[edit] Move to Gay beat

I created the article, and I don't think it should be moved to public sex because it describes a specific type of public sex (the other article is too general), using a specific word that is likely to be typed into the search bar (beat) if someone was looking for information. I created the article because I searched WP for 'beat' in this context but nada.

To my knowledge, the word 'beat' used in this context is less common anywhere else ('cruising ground' seems far more common in the US and UK), and in Australia is the only word used to describe these places. So, I think public sex should link to this article, but it should remain distinct. I also intend to expand on it (hence the {stub}) when I've got time to do some more research. I've had a play on google using "gay beats" and Australian articles are most prominent in this context, 'gay beat' seems to refer to journalists covering gay issues/ events in the US. I'd be happy for it to move to Gay beat if people added to it - I know a lot of study has been conducted in this area, so there should be some people around to expand it :) Natgoo 20:04, 27 October 2005 (UTC)

I don't think renaming to gay beat would be a problem, but I think the word "beat" needs to be in the title as this is a likely search term (heck, it bought me here. The intro could explain that it is mainly an Australian term, synonymous with cottaging?

Will add to when I get a chance.

Since there didn't seem to be any objection, I've moved this page to Gay beat. --Lox (t,c) 17:32, 13 January 2006 (UTC)
