Gaylad (racehorse)

Sometimes recorded in modern historical accounts as Gay Lad but the single word spelling is the correct name. Winner of the 1842 Grand National ridden by Tom Olliver, providing him with the first of three winning rides in the race. Defeated fourteen rivals in a time of 13 minutes 30 seconds.
