Gau-Algesheim is a town and a municipality in the district Mainz-Bingen, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is situated near the river Rhine, approx. 20 km west of Mainz.

Gau-Algesheim is also the seat of the Verbandsgemeinde ("collective municipality") Gau-Algesheim, which consists of the following Ortsgemeinden ("local municipalities"):

  • Appenheim
  • Bubenheim
  • Engelstadt
  • Gau-Algesheim
  • Nieder-Hilbersheim
  • Ober-Hilbersheim
  • Ockenheim
  • Schwabenheim an der Selz
