Gatley railway station is in Gatley, a commuter suburb in Stockport on the Manchester-Crewe rail route, used by Northern Rail and TransPennine Express for Manchester Airport services.
The station is on the A560 Gatley road and has a car park. The ticket office and waiting room are located on the Manchester-bound platform and are open mornings only.
The station is currently closed from 10 December 2006 until 27 January 2007 due to reconstruction of the platforms. A replacement bus service will run Mondays to Saturdays for the duration to and from East Didsbury railway station, running every 15 minutes during the morning peak and half hourly thereafter. The Sunday service will be bustituted throughout. Replacement of the ramp access to the Manchester-bound platform is expected to take several months and will lead to the closure of the adjacent Cambridge Road.
