Gatenmaru
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Gatenmaru is a yōkai from the manga and anime series InuYasha.
He appeared in episodes 51 and 52 (Inuyasha's Devoured Soul and The Demon's True Nature) and can transform into a large moth. He calls Inuyasha "little man" and covets his Tessaiga, until he found out he couldn't wield it. He has one special power in particular: to create a poison cocoon which was used to seal InuYasha in before his yōkai blood took over and he was able to slash the cocoon open and defeat Gatenmaru. He can also use his large battle axe as a weapon when in human form. He led a group of bandits to ransack villages who, except for three, were all massacred by Inuyasha. He has a taste for women, eat them actually(this causes one of his men to comment "so thats why the ladies serving him never came back"). He was in the process of going after Kagome to eat her when InuYasha transformed into full demon mode, which causes Gatenmaru to turn into his true form, which InuYasha easily destroyed. InuYasha also kills all the bandits.
Inuyasha also later faces Gatenmaru's brother, who instead of using poison cocoons as an attack, instead encases the victims and attacks them in their dreams.
