[edit] Expansion suggestions

  • (1) I'm still looking for date of birth info. The August 2006 bio says he's been married for 45 years, so that helps, but it's not enough.
  • (2) There should be a little more about the books beyond the Five Love Languages series. He has 15 books total, and a couple of the others should be in here.
  • (3) Nothing yet about the seminars.
  • (4) He's been a guest on the Focus on the Family radio show a number of times. Something about that might be in order, as it has surely helped his book sales and increased his familiarity among the core audience.
  • (5) Given that the 1996 edition of the core book is in the Amazon top 50 (#43/#44 during the hour I've worked on the article), the series itself should probably get an article if we can muster up enough of a profile for it. The latest addition, The Five Languages of Apology, is coming out in September, 2006, and already is moving up the ranks on Amazon based on pre-orders. (I was interested to note that the Spanish-language edition of both the book AND the audio CD are already set for release either simultaneously or shortly after the English edition.)

Update: My browser crashed before I could save my work, but I'll need to come back later and add an item about Doubleday's announcement that they signed Chapman for a 2008 book, to be co-published by Doubleday and WaterBrook Press. It was in Publishers Weekly's Religion Bookline, Dec. 7, 2005, which also mentioned that the Love Languages series had sold 4 million by that point and that the original book had been on their bestseller list for nearly 10 years and was currently at #1. Reminder to self: Do the search again for bio/profile/interview.Lawikitejana 22:25, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
