Gary Teale

Gary Teale (born July 21, 1978 in Glasgow) is a Scottish footballer who currently plays for Wigan Athletic as a winger.

Gary was educated at Cleveden Secondary School before his footballing career.

He began his career at Clydebank in 1996, followed by a three year spell at Ayr United. But it was at Wigan Athletic that he settled in, picking up a title for the 2002/03 Second Division, also proving crucial in the 2004/05 season in which Wigan were promoted into the Premiership. In 2005 he was offered a new two-year contract with the club.

Teale's impressive performances for his club, earned him International recognition and he was won his first Scotland cap in a 3-1 defeat to Switzerland on 1 March 2006. The Wigan Athletic fans point of view on Gary Teale is widely variable. This is largely due to his mixed displays.
