Gary Shearston

Gary Shearston, an Australian singer and songwriter, was a leading figure of the folk music revival of the 1960s. He is notable as an early performer of old 'bush' songs (Australian traditional folk songs) in an authentic style. In 1990 he received the Tamworth Songwriters' Association's award for "Bush Ballad of the Year". Today he is an Anglican Church minister in rural Australia. He has recorded more than ten albums, most recently Only Love Survives.
