Gary D. Forsee

Gary D. Forsee is the President and CEO of Sprint Nextel Corporation (2005 - ). He took the reins of the telecommunications corporation on the retirement of William Esrey, prior to the merger with Nextel.

Forsee has held high-level management positions in the telecommunications industry for many years. Switching to competing vendors within the same field caused legal litigation attempting to prevent the move. However, the courts allowed the move under legal obligation to not divulge internal secrets.

Forsee holds a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri–Rolla and in May 2005 he was awarded an honorary Doctor of Engineering degree. He presently serves on the University of Missouri-Rolla Board of Trustees and is a member of The Business Roundtable, The Business Council and serves on the board of the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. He was appointed to the National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee by President Bush in May 2004. Forsee currently serves on the National Executive Board of the Boy Scouts of America. He previously served as chairman of the National Board of Trustees of the March of Dimes.
