Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania was founded in late 2006 by the removal of Boothwyn, Pennsylvania from Bethel Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania. In order to distinguish itself from Upper Chichester Township, Pennsylvania, Garnet Valley contains residents that lived in Boothwyn, Bethel Township as well as Boothwyn, Concord Township. The USPS has officially made the change for those residents, who now have the following address:
Garnet Valley, PA 19061
According to the Bethel Township Web site, a post office will be built soon (which will be shared with neighboring Concord Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania), and Garnet Valley will then have its own ZIP code. Rep. Curt Weldon (R-PA), was a key figure in the creation of Garnet Valley.
The town gets its new name from its school district, Garnet Valley School District, located in neighboring Glen Mills, Pennsylvania.
