Garden Valley is a crossroads community about 9 miles west of Lindale.

Historically, prior to the formation of nearby town of Van (6 miles west of Garden Valley) in the late 1920s when oil was discovered there, Garden Valley was a town with a post office, stage coach station and a hotel. Today there is only one stop sign in the community's center with no businesses or public buildings.

Garden Valley is also headquarters of the christian ministry, Teen Mania Ministries, founded in 1986 by Ron Luce. The land now occupied by Teen Mania was once owned by Last Days Ministries, first founded by Keith Green in California in 1977.
