[edit] Removal of non-notable content
I have removed the text of this page which referenced a web address registrar. The reasons for this removal are listed below. Unless all of these points can be addressed there is absolutely no reason for this content to be re-added.
- The website that the content refers to is gandi.net not gandi - any article related to the content should be at that article address not here. At the very worst this page should be a disambig page. Leading on from that, the vast majority of people who type the word gandi into the search box are looking for the page Mahatma Gandhi, guidelines suggest we should be trying to help the end reader not hinder them.
- The content I have removed fails the Notability test for websites. It has an alexa rating of 12,800 and the content clearly fails WP:SPAM & WP:NPOV with wording such as "Domain names are billed on a base of €12 per year, which represents a moderated price" & "The success of Gandi is based on his unique economic model of reducing the profit margins to provide a public-like service through a resource". The content is, in short, of very poor standard, completely unsourced and contains a lot of POV.
- For people searching for Gandhi to be served this page on some obscure registrar which reads like an advertisement is an embarrassment to WP. We are supposed to be a professional encyclopedia, and the content that was served on a common misspelling of a very famous person was very poor.
I have purposefully referenced multiple WP guidelines in this summary so this content isn't simply reverted (as an author has previously done). The content fails these guidelines, and it should not be re-edited back in. SFC9394 20:14, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
