Wikipedia:Gaming Collaboration of the week/Removed

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This page contains nominations from the main Gaming Collaboration of the week page which have been removed due to lack of votes or because they're unsuitable nominations. If no reason is given for the removal of a nominated article, assume that there was not a sufficient amount of votes for it to proceed. Please note that removed articles may be renominated after two months of staying on this page. If you are adding new nominations here from Gaming Collaboration of the week, be sure to delete any {{GCOTW}} tags on said page's talk page. Successful nominations are listed at the history page.

This page only tracks nominations for the past 2 to 3 months only.

[edit] Nintendo Wii

Nominated October 1; needs 3 votes by October 8 (minimum 3 votes per week)

  2. Daveydweeb (chat/patch) 08:25, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

Comments:

  • It's not too long before Wii is released, and a collaboration would be helpful in keeping information updated and accurate. Gaming King 04:12, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
    • To reiterate the introduction of this project page, this collaboration is only for stubs or non-existent articles. The Wii article is neither two. ╫ 25 ◀RingADing▶ 11:38, 1 October 2006 (UTC) ╫
  • Oppose Its release next month means rapid changes. SYSS Mouse 01:46, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
    • Comment Surely rapid changes demand greater attention from the project in order to keep the article accurate? Moreover, certain aspects of the page - writing style, organisation, and so on - won't be affected in any major way by updated facts. Daveydweeb (chat/patch) 08:25, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
I'm strongly against this nomination. We should only focus on stubs or non-existant articles, like ZS said. Thunderbrand 14:06, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
Seconded/Thirded - Phorque 05:12, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Quarantine (game)

Nominated 3 October; needs 3 votes by 10 October (minimum 3 votes per week)

Support:

  1. Phorque 08:34, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

Comments:

  • A successful Doom clone/adaptation with a stub article. This could be brought up to scratch and linked to in the Doom article to illustrate the influence Doom's success had on the gaming industry at the time (killing two birds with one stone sorta). It doesn't need to be wildly in-depth and a few reviews should provide sufficient reference to write something meaningful. Also needs screenshots which I'm sure someone can capture off DOSBox. ;)
    • As an aside, I may nominate Strife after this as it is a similar clone with role-playing rather than racing-game elements brought into the Doom engine. Both of these would enhance the Doom article... I, at least, find these two games stand out particularly. Just my 2c. - Phorque 08:40, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Neverwinter Nights

Nominated October 4; needs 3 votes by October 11 (minimum 3 votes per week)

Support:

  1. Rouge Rosado Oui? 01:02, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
  2. PresN 20:30, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

Comments:

  • Neverwinter Nights is a well-known and high quality game and its article deserves more attention than it has gotten. I'm currently in the process of cleaning it up and adding references and some help would be nice.--Rouge Rosado Oui? 01:02, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
  • I oppose this nomination. This article is not a stub and only people very familiar with the game will be able to provide a meaningfull contribution to the GCOTW. jacoplane 15:16, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] NIBRIS

Nominated October 27; needs 3 votes by November 3 (minimum 3 votes per week)

Support:

  1. Zooba 21:34, 27 October 2006 (UTC)]

Comments:

  • This page, and related pages, could really do with some work on it, updating general information, and linking to references (adding them also) etc. --Zooba 21:34, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Contact (video game)

Nominated October 28 ; needs 3 votes by November 4 (minimum 3 votes per week)

Support:

  1. DocDragon 07:04, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

Comments:

  • Since this game has been out long enough for a decent number of people (myself included) to

beat it, the article could at least use an update for the Plot section.

[edit] multicart

Nominated November 6; needs 3 votes by November 13 (minimum 3 votes per week)

Support:

  1. Hahnchen 05:28, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

Comments:

  • I've just tagged this article with the cvgproj tag. Multicarts are quite well known, especially if you're familiar with video games piracy. Indeed, the very first game I had for my gameboy was a 31-in-1. This article is a stub and remains largely unchanged from its original form from June 2004. I think this computer games piracy concept is pretty important in the CVG space and would like to see it improved. However, it'd also be a hard candidate to improve, with a lack of reliable sources available, but still, I'm sure more could be done on the legal multicarts which exist. - Hahnchen 05:28, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] List of computer and video game hoaxes

Nominated November 7; needs 3 votes by November 14 (minimum 3 votes per week)

Support:

  1. A Link to the Past (talk) 02:01, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

Comments:

  • This article would be very helpful and I can imagine many would be interested in the list. A lot of unfinished hoaxes, and no sources. - A Link to the Past (talk) 02:01, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Jeremy Soule

Nominated November 12; needs 3 votes by November 19 (minimum 3 votes per week)

Support:

  1. Pece Kocovski 07:33, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Comments:

  • Jeremy Soule is a brilliant video games composer. He should have his page detailed and elaborate. Not to mention the list of games he composed.
