Gameti, Northwest Territories

The aboriginal community of Gameti, formerly known as Rae Lakes until 1 December 2005, is located in the Northwest Territories, Canada. It does not have all-weather road access, but an ice-road is sometimes built in the winter. Gameti, "gameis place", refers to the last name of the first elder to settle at the location.

Population is 274 according to the 2001 Census. It is located at 64°09'N lat. and 167°20'W long., halfway between the two great lakes. Local languages are Dogrib and English, and the community belongs to the electoral district of North Slave and to land claim area of Dogrib.
