The Game Boy Printer (named by Pocket Printer in Japan) Nintendo is a thermal printer designed for the Game Boy and Game Boy Color systems and was released in 1998. It prints images from compatible games (listed below) on small rolls of pale blue or reddish 1" x .875" thermal paper, with adhesive backing, and ran on six AA batteries. Its primary function is for the Game Boy Camera, although it is compatible with some late-generation Game Boy and Game Boy Color games, such as Link's Awakening DX, Super Mario Bros. Deluxe, Pokémon Yellow, and Donkey Kong Country. It is no longer being manufactured by Nintendo.

Later games for Game Boy Color (like Pokémon Crystal Version) use the printer for things as printing your Pokédex, or the stats of one specific monster.

In Japan a special Pokemon version of the GameBoy Printer was released. It was bright yellow in appearance and had an emblem of a red and white PokeBall on it.

Amazon also sells a CDROM with a parallel port cable for printing GB pictures out using a PC and regular printer.[citation needed]
