[edit] Background
As of 2006 the band consists of Philly Byrne (vocals), Joe McGuigan (bass), Luke Graham (guitar), Domo Dixon (lead guitar) and Paul Caffrey (drums). Gama Bomb exploded onto the Irish music scene in 2002 with their first release 'The Survival Option' telling wild tales of zombies, hell truckers and skeets, and soon earned themselves a reputation as an energetic and uncompromising live act. After the release of 2004's 'The Fatal Mission' Gama Bomb relentlessly toured the UK and Ireland with front man Philly Byrne dressing as a chef, a priest, a pirate and an unhinged scientist in an ever more outrageous live stage show.
Stylistically rooted in 1980s metal and influenced by acts such as Nuclear Assault, Kreator, Agent Steel, Sodom, and early Megadeth, Gama Bomb are signed to European music label Witches Brew and released full length debut 'Survival of the Fastest' in 2006.
The band have just completed recording on a new studio album tentatively named "Citizen Brain" which they plan to release in early 2007.
